A calm path from blank page to book.
OYAMA Scribe is designed around the way a book actually develops: write the material, give it structure, shape the pages, then proof the whole volume.
Create a book, add a section, write in Draft view, set your page geometry, and use Page Proof or Manuscript Overview to check the result. Your project remains a local .oyama file.
1. Create your first book
Open OYAMA Scribe and choose New. The Book Setup wizard asks for the decisions that affect every later page: trim size, orientation, margins, gutter, page numbering, and the starting visual style.
- Choose a page preset. Start with a familiar book size such as 6 × 9 in if you are writing a trade paperback.
- Choose the book behavior. Mirror margins and a gutter are useful when the book will be bound.
- Choose a style. You can change typography and page parts later without rewriting the manuscript.
- Create the book. OYAMA Scribe opens the first section and keeps the setup attached to the project.
2. Learn the three working views
Write continuously across the manuscript. Use this when words and structure matter more than page furniture.
Edit against the active page geometry. This is the bridge between writing and composition.
Inspect fixed pages, running elements, folios, and the physical rhythm of the book.
3. Save with confidence
Use Ctrl+S for an explicit save. AutoSave can keep the project current, while local recovery snapshots protect recent work if the application or Windows closes unexpectedly. Save the complete book as .oyama; plain text and RTF are intentionally limited to the active chapter.
